Trajectories of the Dutch floats that were launched in the eastern (sub)tropical Atlantic in 2006 and 2007.
Also included is the first float that was launched from the Beagle on her one-year voyage around the world to commemorate Darwin's famous voyage.

Duidelijk te zien is dat floats aan de oostelijke rand een tendens vertonen om langsaam verder oostwaarts de bewegen, terwijl de floats in het westen de neiging hebben om naar het westen de gaan. Bovenop deze algemeene beweging zitten circelvormige bewegingen die door wervels veroorzaakt worden.
