Dutch floats in 2023/2024: South Atlantic

In the southern summer of 2023/24, seven floats were launched in southern Atlantic Ocean from the Plancius.

This series of deployments was hit by bad luck. Five of the seven floats stopped working within a few months, with one of them even working not at all. An investigation into possible reasons was staarted as soon the early failures became apparent, but did not give any clues as to what happened. Other floats from the same production series worked normally. Bad luck, indeed.
